SimProbe is an application that runs in the background on the provider's workstation, gathers information from the current encounter and evaluates the EMR data against the study parameters defined in the ReCES Manager application.

SimProbe interacts with the EMR via a stored procedure trigger that is imbedded at important decision points in the EMR templates, primarily when diagnoses are assigned and toward the end of the encounter when the provider is finalizing the visit.  It is probable that the encounter will be scanned multiple times during the visit as more information is gathered.  If a patient qualifies as a candidate, the provider is alerted with specific information regarding the study/studies in question, aspects of the study qualification criteria that cannot be evaluated by ReCES and given the prerogative to add or reject the patient as a candidate or select the most appropriate study if there are multiple studies listed.

The alert is displayed as a Stay-On-Top window that has a configurable display interval (30 seconds is the default).  If the interval passes without input from the provider, SimProbe automatically accepts the patient as a candidate and closes.

SimProbe can and should be installed on any workstation or tablet that a provider will be using during the course of the patient encounter or when documenting patient records.  This will insure that a SimProbe scan will be initiated when required and that no patients will be overlooked.

If you need additional information or would like to schedule an online demonstration, please contact us via the contact information on the Contacting Simbiote page and we will be in contact with you as soon as possible.
